Editorial
Welcome to the final edition of JETACHE 2003. Hopefully many of you will have
enjoyed the film festival a month or so ago and, hopefully again, some of you may
have seen the photo exhibition staged by our chapter of JET Alumni in the
Christchurch library recently. If not I’m sure we’ll display this again in the near
future.
I’d have to confess to having put JETACHE on the back-burner for a while because
of all the other pressures of life but thankfully a few current JETs have come
through for me and submitted plenty of splendid material. Inside this issue you’ll
find:
The Lafaele Family Adventure (parts I and II)
Did you ever wonder what your JET experience would have been like had you
arrived, not only with your wife, but also with your 8 kids? Read the hilarious
articles submitted by Simon Lafaele’s wife and find out! The final episode will
feature in the next JETACHE.
Kagoshima Karen (unfortunately not available online)
Karen Potts sent in some 'diary' articles she has been publishing in the
local newspaper. I suspect her sports-day wick may be just about flickering out.
Just a feeling I get.
Tokyo Job Fair information
Blair’s Sumo Watch
All the latest happenings in the world of sumo with a write up from the
Fukuoka Basho, and a few tidbits from a JET couple who were actually there!
So grab an egg-nog (sp?), slouch on down in your comfy chair and enjoy a bit
of reading from Nihon. Merry Christmas, fa la la la la and all that.
Please send any material for publication in the February issue to
Blair McMillan
Cheers.
